Danette Taylor of D R Taylor Designs is an artist residing in Fredericksburg, VA. After being a full time working mother, raising 3 children while owning and operating her own used bookstore for over 16 years, Danette decided to change careers to find a more creative way to earn a living. Soon she began dabbling in painting with acrylics.

Danette’s early inspiration led her to create a multitude of intricately hand painted pieces. During this time she conceived one of her signature designs…a distinguished custom painted keepsake box.  This piece is truly inspired and quite popular.  Each representation is exclusively designed to suit the individual personality or lifestyle of the recipient

Doing research for clients and learning more about the people for which she designs and paints these unique pieces has also lead Danette to incorporate her other passion…genealogy…into her art.   Inspiration struck and now featured on her website, and in her Etsy store, are her genuinely original Heritage Bracelets.  Danette uses elements of clients’ personal family history and genealogy to design extraordinary future family heirlooms…souvenirs for reunions or other milestone family events.

From the Heritage Bracelet concept came the wildly popular design, Mother and Grandmother Bracelets, featuring artful photographic treatments of children and grandchildren.   If you have your own fresh idea for a bracelet, Danette will gladly help you design just the right one for you or your gift recipient.

Today, Danette is working on her rapidly expanding, hottest selling collection of team and school spirit designs that include vibrant school colors, popular mascots, sorority or fraternity chapters, photographs of campuses and/or school insignias.  These are perfect as gifts for high school/college graduates who want to fondly remember their scholastic experiences or alumni who want to display their school pride.

When she’s not painting or packaging shipments, she’s soaking her hands and waiting for the next design concept to emerge.
